#NOTAPHASE
Taking popular imagery and colors associated with the different identites the #NotAPhase movement pushes to bring more awareness to intimate partner violence against queer women.
When creating this campaign we wanted to draw attention to the violence brought against queer women in their relationships and day to day existence in a way that highlighted the manner and drew attention. Incorporating famous iconography from the LGBTQ+ community as well as imagery that would immediately connect with viewers who may not know as much history.
The "Not A Phase" title stems from the attitude often projected towards queer identities, but in this piece it aims to prompt discussion these women not going away no matter how brushed over society treats them and their abuse.
Original intended use of stickers to spread awareness
What binds all the stickers (outside of the tone of pink representing "traditional" femininity) is this rough texture indicative of something that is trying to be washed away. Symbolizing both the way queer identities are often washed away and the way people tend to brush off abuse, but still each symbol stands saying who they are and what they are going to is not a phase others should overlook.
This roadway is meant to demonstrate an idea of being run over as well as view how the campaign can expand to impact more people
A demonstration of the elements being able to shift to new meanings in order to further educate the public in this campaign, eventually fading to a darkness to communicate the urgency of this campaign
